Join us on New Year’s Eve for our annual Countdown to 8PM and Golden Spruce Cone Drop!

It wouldn’t be a Black Spruce New Year’s Eve without a couple of annual taproom traditions: our Countdown to 8PM and Golden Spruce Cone Drop!

Why do we countdown to 8PM and not midnight? Under current Alaska state law, breweries such as ours are required to stop service at 8PM (this will change to 9PM on January 1, 2024). We can’t stay open until midnight, so we party until 8PM!

What’s the Golden Spruce Cone Drop? It’s exactly what it sounds like. More wholesome than the giant ball in Times Square but every bit as majestic, our humble, glittery lil’ cone slowly descends from our ceiling to a TBD receiver as we countdown to 8PM. It’s fun, it’s goofy and it’s what we do.

If you’re looking for some cheerful NYE fun, stop by our taproom to enjoy a pint by the fire, grab a few 4-packs and partake in our festivities. We’ll be open from 3PM to 8PM this Sunday, December 31 and closed on Monday, December 1.

Pack ‘Em Up…

…then ship ‘em out! On January 1, we’ll begin shipping beer! Yep, you read that right! Now, you won’t have to miss out on new releases or your fix of one of our flagships just because you aren’t in Fairbanks! Beginning in 2024, we’ll have our beers and ciders available through our online store to ship to you!

*Some restrictions will apply, depending on shipping address, order volume and product availability.

Barrel Beers

We’re on the other side of solstice, but we’ve still got a few months of stout (and barleywine season) left! Stock up now on all FOUR of this year’s barrel-aged releases! We have two variations each of Long Nights Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout and Reginald Van Horn Barrel-Aged Barleywine available in single cans to go. Enjoy now or cellar to enjoy later! Available in 16oz single cans.

Upcoming Events

We’ll be OPEN New Year’s Eve! On Sunday, December 31, our taproom will be open from 3PM to 8PM for all of your local beer and cider needs. Stick around for our annual Countdown to 8PM and Golden Spruce Cone Drop to ring in the new year!

Our next First Friday is coming up on Friday, January 5, and we’re thrilled to welcome local artist Emily Rosenblatt! Emily practices a variety of disciplines, including painting and jewelry making, and her work will be on display and available for sale throughout the month of January!

We’ve got food indoors! You can catch The Knotty Pretzel inside at our taproom on Fridays, and Megs Eats ‘n Treats indoors on Wednesdays and Thursdays! Stay tuned for updates on additional vendors and dates!

Love barleywine? Catch BSBC at the Alaska Craft Brew & Barley Wine Festival in Anchorage on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3! Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. You can bet we’ll be bringing barleywine, new releases and more and can’t wait to see you there!

Brewery Brunch is held at our taproom every Saturday from noon until 3PM. Special brunch beer cocktails, like our spicy red beer, will be offered. We’ll also have fresh pastries from local bakeries like Marlo’s and Little Owl Cafe.

We just dropped off another delivery of beer and cider to our Anchorage and Mat-Su accounts at the start of this week! Our next round of Anchorage and Mat-Su deliveries will likely be at the beginning of February (exact date TBA).

Our taproom will be OPEN 3PM-8PM  on Sunday, December 31 and CLOSED on Monday, January 1.
