Coloring Night Returns

Swing by for some creative relaxation tomorrow. Plus, slushies are comin’ in hot (or cold), and a new mead drops next week!

In case you missed our March event, Coloring Night is coming back TOMORROW! All afternoon and evening, we’ll have crayons and coloring pages for both kiddos and grown-ups out on all of our taproom tables for your enjoyment! Whether you prefer geometric patterns, nature-inspired images or nostalgic characters (Lisa Frank and Titanic are literally on the table, as are Princess Mononoke and Spongebob), we’ve got you and your crew covered.

Crayons aren’t the only colorful touches around our taproom! Whether you prefer a vividly red pint of WOW! Real Fruit Smoothie-Style Sour, the dark and roasty comfort of Vernal Buzz Milk Stout or the crisp clarity of Purple Cone Contemporary Pilsner, our beer and cider line-up has something for everyone. Scope our current menu on our website or ask one of our stellar beertenders to help you find your next favorite brew! See you at our taproom!

Let’s Slush

The forecast calls for temperatures getting up into the 50s (above zero!) this week, so you know what that means: SLUSHIES ARE BACK!!! ‘Tis the season for us to cool back down with these icy treats! Throughout the spring and summer, we’ll be slushing up some of more fruit-forward offerings, such as WOW! Real Fruit Smoothie-Style Sour and Pinnell Pineapple Semi-Sweet Cider. For the time being, slushies will be offered on Fridays and Saturdays only, but stay tuned for updates on increased availability as the weather warms up!

Blue Mead Monday

Next Monday, April 22, we’ll be releasing our first fruit-infused mead, which will feature an addition of Alaska blueberries! Our orange-blossom honey will pour an incredible, vivid violet color and will showcase a delightful sweetness and the telltale flavor of wild Alaska blueberries. This small-batch release won’t last long and will be available by-the-glass at our taproom only.

Upcoming Events

You can catch us at the 17th Annual Taste of Alaska Beer Festival at the Pub at UAF on Saturday, April 27 from 6PM to 10PM. This bangin’ annual beer festival celebrates craft beer and cider from around Alaska and is a great opportunity to revisit your favorite brews and sample the latest releases! Tickets are available at the Pub now for $35 each or at the door day-of for $40 each. This event is 21+ only.

Another reminder: we’ll be hosting Coloring Night this Wednesday, April 17! It’s exactly what it sounds like. Bring the kiddos, some friends or just yourself, and enjoy some relaxing coloring while you sip a fresh beer! Crayons and coloring pages will be provided. We’ll even put your artwork up on the fridge (our big ol’ walk-in cooler) when you’re done to show off your work!

On April 27, the start of early voting for the FNSB’s special election to vote on Prop A, we’ll kick off our Golden Heart Strong School Lunch Fundraiser. For each pint or 4-pack of Golden Heart Off-Dry Cider or Short Days Golden Ale purchased from our taproom, Black Spruce will donate $1 to the FNSB School District Nutrition Services Fund. This fund  helps to ensure that students who do not have funds still have access to nutritious lunch and breakfast meals, and you can donate to this fund HERE. This fundraiser was organized with help from Golden Heart Strong and will run April 27-May 7. All FNSB registered voters are encouraged to participate in this special election. Election day is May 7.

Our next First Friday is coming up on Friday, May 3 and will feature photography by students of the UAF Photography Department! This stellar student showcase will feature a variety of subjects and will be on display all month long.

Anchorage and Mat-Su accounts, we’re comin’ for ya! Our next round of Anchorage and Mat-Su deliveries will be on May 6 & 7. Prepare yourself for a whole mess of new releases, including a new collab and a fresh lager!
