Who’s ready for a fresh take on one of our fan favorite brews?! Sluice Box is, once again, gracing us with its presence, but now… it’s a double IPA! Hazy, juicy and twice as nice, Sluice Box will be making regular appearances on our brew schedule moving forward!
So besides being amped up to a double, what else is new about this brew? The hop additions, that’s what! Dank, tropical Mosaic; rich and fruity Idaho 7 and luscious, passion fruit-y Galaxy hops now play starring roles in this vibrant brew. A healthy addition of oats contribute to this beer’s smooth, fluffy and irresistibly drinkable body.
Sluice Box Hazy DIPA is now available on tap and in 4-packs to-go from our taproom, and keep an eye out for it at select retailers in Fairbanks and Anchorage.
Let’s Party!
You can catch us in Anchorage at the Alaska Craft Brew & Barley Wine Festival at the Dena’ina Convention Center on Friday, February 2 and February 3! We’ll be pouring plenty of new releases, as well as some of your favorite BSBC flagships! As one would hope, we’ll probably throw in a barleywine or imperial stout for good measure, too. Get your tickets now, and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks!
A Need for Mead
Looking forward to our next batch of mead? Samesies. Mark you calendars for a lil’ Mead Monday action on Monday, January 29! This next batch will see a revisitation to blackberry blossom honey and will be available on tap only (no to-go). These super fun, super small batches always sell out quickly, so scurry on over to get your fix of mead before it’s all gone!
Upcoming Events
BSBC is proud to be supporting the Bread Line’s annual Soup Off fundraiser, and you can enjoy Black Spruce beer and cider at this terrific event! This year’s Soup Off will be held this Saturday, January 20 at 6PM at the Westmark Hotel’s Gold Room, and all proceeds will benefit the Bread Line’s anti-hunger programs. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door, but pre-order tickets are now sold out. Thank you for supporting local businesses and non-profits, everyone!
Our next First Friday is coming up in two weeks! Alyssa Enriquez will be our featured artist for the month of February, and you can catch her First Friday show at our taproom on Friday, February 2! Alyssa’s stunning photographs will be on display and available for sale throughout the month of February and, as always, we’ll have plenty of great Black Spruce beer and cider to enjoy while you take in the artwork!
Love barleywine? Catch BSBC at the Alaska Craft Brew & Barley Wine Festival in Anchorage on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3! Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. You can bet we’ll be bringing barleywine, new releases and more and can’t wait to see you there!
Brewery Brunch is held at our taproom every Saturday from noon until 3PM. Special brunch beer cocktails, like our spicy red beer, will be offered. We’ll also have fresh pastries from local bakeries like Marlo’s and Little Owl Cafe.
Anchorage and Mat-Su accounts, we’re comin’ for ya! Our next round of Anchorage and Mat-Su deliveries will be on Thursday, February 1 ahead of the Alaska Craft Brew & Barley Wine Festival. Stock up on your Black Spruce faves at your local bottle shop, then come and say “hi” to us at the festival!
